There are so many LGBTQ brothers and sisters out there who really want to be a part of a spiritual community and want to reconnect with their faith. But there are so many ways that society uses religion to condemn and push folks out to the margins. So I am very excited for this episode of Dem Bois Podcast, where I get to sit down with Andrés Herrera, a trans man who is also a spiritual care practitioner. In this episode, we discuss spirituality, faith, community, and masculinity.

We talk:
André’s’ transition story - 5:50
Emilio’s family’s disconnect from religion and acceptance of his transition - 18:17
Finding faith-based spaces that were affirming - 25:28
How spirituality has shaped Emilio’s masculinity - 39:17
Society’s use of religion to oppress - 47:50
